What got you interested in Holm Security?
Before joining Holm Security, I was already working as an Account Manager for a direct competitor based in Sweden.
When I first talked to the Managing Director of the Benelux, I felt we were on the same page with the same vision, drive, and motivation. I was ready to take on a more responsible role and to take the next step in my career and do what I love. Since switching to IT Security in 2013, I have developed a passion for helping organizations with increasing their security posture.
What former experiences can you benefit from in your new job role at Holm Security?
I started my career as a Customer Support Engineer at a leading network company. It was a great experience where I mainly learned how to troubleshoot and solve any problem quickly and efficiently. I still benefit from this in challenging and stressful situations. My first steps in IT Security were as a Technical Account Manager. The combination of a solid technical background and then IT Security combined with my pre-sales experience and sales experience has helped me to be successful in my current role.
According to you, how can Holm’s products help others?
In my opinion, pen-tests are great when you have your security under control, and when you can test specific systems that are business-critical. Otherwise, the value is limited compared to an integrated and automated tool that can test everything more regularly. For the most part, it is cheaper and will help you to get control over your security.
The main issue is that we still live in a re-active world when it comes to cybersecurity. Most companies think they will not become a victim of a cyber incident – a lesson most learn the hard way. We live in a different world compared to 10-20 years ago, nowadays any company can be targeted.
If you adopt a pro-active IT Security strategy, you can fix identified issues upfront, keeping risks under control, and ultimately prevent incidents from happening for the most part.
What do you enjoy the most about your work?
Being the first and currently the only employee in Belgium can seem tough, however, I see it as a benefit. I have a lot of freedom and a lot of potential business. I enjoy making progress, seeing our business grow and grow myself in my career, and as a sales professional.
It has been great to receive positive feedback from prospects evaluating our platform and end up as customers. In the end, it’s all about customer satisfaction.
We are here to stay and get a solid base of happy customers for years to come! That’s what drives me and what I get satisfaction from ultimately.
